ASPIRE

What is ASPIRE?

Aspire is a small group, centralized program designed for students who demonstrate documented intellectual disabilities.  These students often have comorbid disabilities that require use of durable medical equipment, assistive technology, and/or require constant adult supervision to participate in activities of daily learning.  Specialized instruction is provided at the pre-academic level and focuses on pre-academics, activities of daily living and functional communication.  Students receiving alternate or prerequisite curriculum may be considered for STAAR Alt-2 and EOC Alt Assessments.

Lake Air ASPIRE program serves students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade.

Individualized Plans & Progress Monitoring:

  •  Each child in the ASPIRE program receives a Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) that outlines their goals and the strategies we'll use to help them succeed
  • The teachers provide regular progress updates through parent-teacher conferences, emails, and phone calls
  • Annual reviews are conducted to monitor your child's growth and adjust goals as needed.

Program Overview:

  • Individualized Attention: With a small student-to-teacher ratio, students receive more focused, one-on-one help
  • Academic Growth: By receiving targeted support, students often experience significant improvement in both academic skills and self-esteem.
  • Social Development: The program offers a safe space for building positive social skills and forming friendships.
  • Prepare for Success: ASPIRE prepares students for future success in high school and beyond on study skills, organization, and self advocacy.
