P.E./ Pre. Athletics

 

Elementary & Middle School P.E. & Middle School Pre-Athletics 

At Lake Air, we are committed to helping students build lifelong healthy habits, teamwork skills, and a love of physical activity. Our Physical Education (P.E.) and Pre-Athletics programs are designed to support both physical and personal development at every grade. 

Elementary School P.E. (Grades Pre-K-5th grade)

Elementary P.E. classes focus on foundational physical skills and the joy of movement.

Students will: 

  • Participate in a variety of activities that build coordination, balance, strength, and endurance
  • Learn rules and strategies of games and sports appropriate to their age
  • Practice teamwork, communication, and good sportsmanship
  • Develop self-confidence, cooperation, and respect for others
  • Begin to understand basic health and wellness concepts 

What Students Need: 

  • Comfortable clothing and athletic shoes (no sandals or dress shoes, please)
  • A refillable water bottle
  • A positive attitude and willingness to participate 

 

Middle School P.E. (Grades 6-8) 

Middle school P.E. builds on elementary fundamentals and introduces students to more advanced physical skills and team sports.

Students will:

  • Engage in structured units covering team sports, fitness training, individual activities, and health education
  • Track personal progress in areas such as cardio fitness, strength, flexibility, and goal setting
  • Continue developing sportsmanship, leadership, and self-discipline 
  • Learn basic nutrition, injury prevention, and wellness topics

Middle School Pre-Athletics (Grades 6th-8th)

Pre-Athletics is a specialized P.E. course that prepares students for participation in school sports in future grades. It is ideal for students interested in joining competitive athletic teams in High School.

Students will:

  • Improve strength, agility, speed, and endurance 
  • Learn about athletic expectations, including teamwork, responsibility, and leadership 
  • Develop goal-setting and time management skills related to training and academics 
  • Be evaluated of effort, improvement, and character, not just athletic ability 

What students Need: 

  • Workout gear that is within school dress code
  • Proper athletic shoes and water bottle 
  • Commitment to daily participation and effort
